Description
DGR ShortRun Perfect Binder is a fully automatic machine for the production of perfect bound, lay-flat, thread sewn brochures and for the production of book blocks with endsheets and backlining.
The DGR KM.40 Perfect Binder offers very short make-ready without the needs of make-ready parts.

Operation
Gathered or sewn blocks are fed either manually or automatically on to the infeed conveyor. A measuring devise on the infeed is taking the product thickness and the product height automatically and adjust the complete machine accordingly at the relevant points. Each pile is then brought into the upright position and synchronized with the machine cycle. Following the jogging station the products are transported through the machine by two sets of transport belts.
The spine preparing devise contents a main milling head and a roughening head with separate drives. The roughening head can also be used for notching. The endsheets are fed with servo driven belts.
This allows the endsheet’s to be adjusted flush with the book spine or applied higher, away from the spine. Together with the end papers, the block is glued, back-lined and/or a scored cover is applied. The scoring station is also very unique. Instead of using scoring wheels upper and lower forming bars will do a perfect scoring, parallel and very even After pressing the bound product a controlled motion of the pressing station is transporting the product very gentle down in the machine and laying it on a transport belt, title up without dropping at all.
